US President Joe Biden’s administration has plans to unite over 30 nations to launch a collective fight against ransomware threats and other cyber crime. The meeting is said to take place only by the end of this month and will be hosted by the White House’s National Security Council on a virtual note.

Highly placed sources from the white house report that the collective meeting will take place in order to improve law enforcement collaboration and will also discuss ways to stop illegal use of Cryptocurrency-mostly Bitcoins.

It has to be notified over here that united states experience one of the worst ransomware attacks in the history in this year that includes a digital attack on US Oil supplier Colonial Pipeline and food supplier JBS Meat- where the latter admitted paying $11 million to free up its database from ransomware that had links to Russian intelligence.

Biden Administration is also interested in proposing ways on how to tackle adversary nations such as China and Russia from spreading malware and other espionage related campaigns online and creating a new group dubbed Counter-Ransomware Initiative to see that the spread of ransomware is curbed diplomatically, without straining the America-Russia- Chinese relationship on a further note.

Note- According to a report compiled by Emsisoft, the year 2020, America witnessed over 100 ransomware attacks on federal institutions, 500 on healthcare sector, 1680 on educational institutes and over 3679 businesses across the entire United States.
