Critical Microsoft Windows Vulnerability found

Microsoft Corporation is urging all Windows users including those using Win 7 and 8 operating systems to update their devices with the latest security patches. Or else they are on the verge of getting hacked by cyber crooks that could then install programs, view or delete data or even create new user accounts of a PC without the knowledge of the user or the system administration if/when on network.

To those who opted for automatic updates, the PrintNightmare vulnerability existing within Windows Print Spooler will not be applicable as their devices will be updated with the latest security patches within a couple of days this week.

But to those who opted for manual security update, the alert seems to be crucial as they need to scan for the updates and then select the applicable one that could bail them out of this crisis scenario.

Print Spooler is a kind of computer tool that helps the PC interact with printers and helps in print jobs.

Thus, a latest discovery made by security engineers of Microsoft(MS) has revealed that all the Windows 7, 8 and 10 operating systems are vulnerable to cyber attacks launched by hackers who could then run an arbitrary code that could later offer them system privileged such as spying on the targeted device.

Satya Nadella led company has already released security update guide that could help MS users know how they can protect their system from the Windows Print Spooler flaw.

Note 1- All Windows OS versions including Win 10 1607, Win Server 2016 or Windows Server 2012 are eligible for update.

Note 2- Windows 11 that will be a precede to Windows 10 will be released in September this year. And those using Win 10 will be available to get their devices freely upgraded to Win 11 provided their current device has all the supporting hardware.
