Frank Abagnale, one of the world's most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement, secure documents, cybercrime, and scams—and subject of the 2002 movie Catch Me If You Cankicked off Vision 2023: Looking Ahead at Cyber Threats, a half-day educational event held live and recorded on December 13th.

Dedicated to helping cybersecurity leaders learn about the evolving threats that modern organizations face today and in the future, Vision 2023 features security influencers, reformed hackers, enterprise CISOs, and the U.S. Secret Service.

The webcast was hosted by SecureWorld and sponsored by Abnormal Security, KnowBe4, and Valimail. The recording is available on-demand and free to attend, and participants can earn up to 6 CPE credits.

"I live on a very simple philosophy and always have," Abagnale said in his opening keynote. "It's based on three points: prevention, verification, and education. Prevention, because once you lose your money, you will probably never get your money back." He added that as of 2021, there was approximately $110 billion of court-ordered restitution outstanding from federal, state, county, and city courts. "91% of that will never be collected," Abagnale said.

He said verification is next, "because anything today can be replicated, duplicated, counterfeited, deep faked; so before you part with any information, you absolutely need to know who's on the other end of that device."

"Education is the most powerful tool in fighting crime," he added. "If I can show you how the scam works, you understand it, you will not fall victim to that crime."

Register for the on-demand webcast to hear Abagnale's full presentation, including lots of scary statistics, helpful tips, and great information from someone who knows the mind of a criminal—and some heartwarming personal information he shares during the Q&A portion at the end.

The rest of the agenda is loaded with great content, including:
