Cengage to acquire Cybersecurity training company InfoSec

InfoSec that offers qualified Cybersecurity training programs to professionals has announced that it is going to be acquired by Online Education offering business platform Cengage Group.

Cengage Group announced it is going to purchase InfoSec for $191m and the deal will probably be closed by the second quarter of 2022.

“Currently, the employee and online training programs are touching $1 billion and pretty soon the market is said to reach $3 billion by the beginning of 2023 and is expected to cross $10 billion by 2027,” said Michael Hansen, the CEO of Cengage.

Jack Koziol, the CEO of InfoSec, will remain as a CEO till the completion of the business transition and will then take on another role with the same company.

“All certification and skill development programs introduced by InfoSec will remain the same and will further more simplified to make the learning accessible, affordable and applicable,” added Jack Koziol, the CEO and Founder of InfoSec.

Cengage Group has been offering education on the go to professionals and students who would like to take Cybersecurity field as their career path. And from now on, all the 100 people and the 1400 certification courses will join Cengage’s workforce of the over 4,650 employees.

A research made by Burning Glass Technologies in United States suggests that the next couple of years will witness over 600,000 vacant jobs in Cybersecurity. So, the demand to gauge the security skills will pick up its pace in coming years.

Therefore, Cengage will witness a great demand for the online courses in the security field in coming days. And by buying a company that offers security training, it will hit the bull’s eye regarding the monetary profits.
